President's Organizing Council

On August 27, 2022, the AEA Board of Directors unanimously passed a resolution calling for the establishment of the President’s Organizing Council. The resolution is a bold and unprecedented vision of where we need to be as a union to make growing and building our union the number one priority.

The Council held its first convening on December 9, 2022. There was a packed house of union education leaders at AEA headquarters to hear and learn from local affiliates about the organizing work they are doing in school districts.

With more than 20,000 members, the Arizona Education Association (AEA) is the labor union for public school employees in Arizona. AEA members are teachers, community college professors, counselors, speech pathologists, bus drivers, secretaries, retired educators and student teachers and they belong to more than 150 local affiliates across Arizona.
