Parents, teachers, and advocates launch Invest in Arizona in response to Governor Ducey and Republican state legislators passing massive tax breaks for the wealthy and hundreds of millions in cuts to state revenues affecting education, infrastructure, and much more.

Today, Governor Ducey signed a state budget that prioritizes tax cuts for the wealthy over investing in our children’s education.

On June 21, 2021, the Arizona Education Association held a press conference urging legislators to protect the Invest in Education Act in state budget negotiations and highlight the devastating consequences the proposed state budget moving through the legislature would have on our public schools.

Today, the Arizona Legislative Republican Leadership and Governor Doug Ducey reached an agreement on a state budget proposal that prioritizes tax cuts for the rich over investing in our public schools.

Arizona educators applaud the passage of SCR1044 by the Arizona Legislature to allow Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students who meet the requirements for residency and have an Employment Authorization Document to pay in-state tuition for Arizona universities.

APRIL 26, 2021 – Today, AEA members across the state will be celebrating the third anniversary of the historic day 75,000 educators, parents, and education advocates marched on the Arizona Capitol to demand the state meet its responsibility to fund the public schools our students deserve.

On April 7, 2021, the Arizona Education Association, Arizona Educators United, and Save Our Schools Arizona held a press conference at the Arizona Capitol to protect the Invest in Education Act and urge lawmakers to oppose Senate Bill (SB) 1783, which would cut up to $378 million from public schools.
