Our 2023 Educators' Budget highlights the investments needed to address Arizona's educator retention crisis.

Earlier today, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed SB1305, which would have left educators vulnerable to steep fines and disciplinary action for teaching the truth about race, history and current events.

Enough with the political posturing. Legislators who genuinely wish to support educators and invest in public education should vote NO on HB2800 and focus on real proposals to address our educator retention crisis.

With the passage of HCR2001 by the Arizona State Senate a few minutes ago, the education funding cap (also known as the aggregate expenditure limit or AEL) has officially been waived for the 2022-2023 school year.

On June 14, 2022, the Arizona Education Association joined a coalition of labor unions in announcing our endorsement of Secretary of State Katie Hobbs for Governor of Arizona in the 2022 election:

On April 21, 2022, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled against Prop 307 and protecting funding for public schools and instead sided with wealthy corporate interests. Despite the clear and strong language of the Arizona Constitution granting the people a co-equal right to legislate, Governor Ducey, Legislative Leadership, and the Ducey-packed Supreme Court have stripped the people of their rights. They are doing it openly, contrary to longstanding precedent, and to help the rich, not everyday Arizonans.
