Our Leaders

What does leadership look like? All of us.
More than 20,000 members elect over 550 delegates to the Delegate Assembly, the highest decision-making body within AEA.
The AEA Delegate Assembly is also Arizona's largest democratic deliberative body. In past years, delegates would debate vital issues that impact public education and set Association policy and activities for the years ahead at AEA's Delegate Assembly.

Our President

Marisol Garcia was elected as the first woman of color and Chicana to serve as AEA President on May 7, 2022.

Our Vice President

Angela Philpot was elected as Vice President of the Arizona Education Association (AEA) on May 7, 2022.

Our Treasurer

Amber Gould was elected as Treasurer of the Arizona Education Association (AEA) on May 7, 2022.

Our Board

The Arizona Education Association Board of Directors shapes the Committees and Task Force work for AEA to be meaningful for member engagement around relevant issues, as elected by local associations.
