Secretary Hobbs’ commitment to Arizona’s working men and women dates to her days as a Social Worker, member of the Arizona Legislature, and now Secretary of State. During one of the most challenging times in Arizona history, Secretary Hobbs took the lead fighting to protect our democracy from extremists’ attacks. We know and trust Katie Hobbs. More importantly, she knows us, the men and women who work hard every day for our citizens. Nobody is better prepared to be Arizona’s next Governor than Katie Hobbs.

“As the voice of 20,000 educators across the state, AEA is proud to endorse Secretary of State Katie Hobbs,” said AEA President Joe Thomas. “Katie is a strong leader and supporter of public education at a time when our educators need someone who will have their back.”

AEA joins a historic, diversified coalition of Arizona’s largest unions—UFCW, Teamsters 104, and UNITE HERE Local 11—representing over 50,000 union workers and their families who are all in for Katie.

“I am a proud union member and a teacher,” said AEA Vice President Marisol Garcia. “Our students need someone like Katie who supports union values and will fight for our working families.”

The AEA Fund for Public Education (AEA Fund) is the Political Action Committee (PAC) of AEA to support candidates who support public schools. The AEA Fund is governed by the AEA Fund Council, who voted to make the recommendation for governor. Only current or retired AEA members, AEA and Affiliate executive and managerial staff, and their families may be solicited to contribute to the AEA Fund. The AEA Fund may not accept contributions from the general public. All donations are voluntary.
