AEA Applauds Governor Hobbs’ Education Budget, Historic Investment in Arizona’s Public Schools

Today, Arizona’s Education Governor released a budget proposal that will make an historic investment into our public schools.
Published: January 13, 2023

“This proposed budget is a clear commitment from Governor Katie Hobbs to ensure that great public schools are available for every student, not just the wealthy few,” said AEA President Marisol Garcia. “Every working family should have the opportunity to send their children to a fully funded public school in their neighborhood.”

Governor Hobbs’ budget makes students and educators a priority by investing in policies and programs that AEA believes will ensure expanded opportunities for all students, reinforce the vital role that public schools play in our communities and turnaround the Arizona’s educator retention crisis.

“These budget priorities will ensure great public educators will be able to continue their commitment to their communities,” said Garcia.

The proposed executive budget will focus on funding Arizona’s public school system to ensure all students have equal access and opportunity to the support and resources they need in their neighborhood public school and is accountable and transparent to the public.
