Fair Pay & Benefits

You shouldn’t have to choose between following your passion and making a living.
Fair pay and fair benefits ensure the best and brightest can join and stay in our profession–for that’s what our communities deserve.
We’re tackling dignified pay, health care, debt support, and career security, so our incredible educators can stay focused on their students.

Professional Pay

Competitive pay is crucial for attracting and retaining qualified educators for our students, throughout their academic journeys.

Pensions & Retirement Security

Pensions are crucial to attracting and retaining qualified, experienced educators in the profession. And that's worth fighting for.

Job & Career Security

Privatization is a threat to public education. Educators must be aware of privatization and take measures to prevent its dangerous impact on school communities.

Student Debt Support

AEA is working with educators to combat student debt, advocate for urgent relief action from Congress, and elect future leaders who support forgiving student debt and reforming the student loan system.
Hugo Arreola
Education justice means that every student in the public education system has enough resources, has enough opportunities to focus on education. It means that teachers are paid enough, that we have enough counselors, and that support staff are making enough so they don’t have to worry about living paycheck to paycheck.
