Take Action on State Budget
The proposed state budget reduces state revenue by billions of dollars in the form of massive permanent tax cuts for the wealthy. At a time when Arizona ranks 48th in per-student spending and our state has a severe teacher shortage, that money should be invested in our public schools. Tell legislators to vote no on any state budget that reduces public education funding, or includes any new, permanent tax cuts, flat tax or tax cap proposals, until Arizona's per-student funding reaches the national average.
Budget bills were introduced Monday, May 24. The Senate has passed a state budget and the House is meeting on Thursday, June 24. We must continue to keep up the pressure! AEA has created this toolkit to help you take action on the budget. Click on the links below for different ways to get involved.
