Member Organizers Grow their Unions

Growing membership is essential to having a strong union.
Published: December 10, 2021

Thanks to a grant from the National Education Association, local associations have been able to hire member organizers to help recruit and retain members in their locals. From June to November 2021, these member organizers have attended NEA organizing trainings, monthly AEA meetings, planned site leaders and site leader trainings, planned welcome back to school events to for new educators, and held one-on-one conversations with new and potential members. As of the end of October 2021, these member organizers have recruited nearly 700 new members to their union, building their local voice and power.

Thank you to these member organizers and the great union organizing work they have done in 2021!
