Education-related Organizations for Parents and the Community

  • Public Education Network (PEN) is a national association of local education funds (LEFs) and individuals working to advance public school reform in low-income communities across our country. PEN seeks to build public demand and mobilize resources for quality public education for all children. PEN believes community engagement is the missing ingredient in school reform, and that the level of public involvement ultimately determines the quality of education provided by public schools.
  • Public School Parents Network (PSPN) is a site designed and maintained by parents of public school children to serve as an information source and reference guide for all parents of school age students.  PSPN is committed to candidly addressing the educational issues that confront school age students and their parents daily.
  • First Day Foundation promotes family involvement in education:  "Make the First Day of School the best day of each year! Join thousands of schools across the country mobilizing families and communities to get involved in children's education through the First Day of School America campaign."
