Who are my legislators?
Arizona has 30 Legislative Districts. Each district has two members of the House of Representatives and one Senator. You can look up your legislators (as well as other elected officials).
How do I contact them?
Call them at their offices. Legislators office phone numbers are available when you look them up on line. You will talk to their legislative assistant who can make appointments for you to meet them, or leave them a message.
Visit them at the Capitol. Make an appointment by calling ahead of time. Generally, legislators are available during business hours in their offices as long as they are not in a legislative hearing or on the floor voting on issues. The Arizona Capitol is located in Phoenix at 1700 West Washington. Click here for a map.
Send them emails. Just click here to send an email to your legislators. The AEA Legislative Action Center includes Action Alerts on specific issues that allow you to learn about an issue and contact your legislators to express your opinions. Sign up here.
Write them letters. Next to a personal visit, a well-written letter is the best way to advocate for your issues.
Testify at a Hearing. Legislative committees take public testimony on the budget and each bill that is heard. Visit the AEA Legisative Website to learn more.
Become a citizen lobbyist! There are a number of other ways to advocate your position on issues with your legislators and the governor.
