Degrees Not Debt

Do you have federal student debt and are unsure of whether you qualify for federal loan forgiveness programs such as Teacher Loan Forgiveness (TLF), Teacher Loan Cancellation (TLC), and/or Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)?

Degrees Not Debt is the National Education Association’s campaign to help members navigate the student loan maze and empower them to take action. Visit www.nea.org/degreesnotdebt for more information. Below are additional resources.

Keeping the Promise of Public Service Loan Forgiveness

The federal public service loan forgiveness program is under threat from the current administration.

Protect Student Borrowers

Attorneys general of 18 states and the District of Columbia filed suit against U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos for rescinding federal protections designed to hold abusive for-profit colleges accountable for cheating students and taxpayers out of billions of dollars in federal loans.

The protections, known as “borrower defense to repayment,” were set to go into effect July 1st and sought to make it easier for defrauded student loan borrowers to seek debt forgiveness if schools used deceptive or illegal means to encourage students to take out loans to attend.

Arizona's Attorney General has not joined the lawsuit to protect students. Add your name as a citizen co-signer to support the decision by the 19 attorneys general to stand up for students.
