What does leadership look like? All of us.
Learn more about our leadership and decision-making in AEA.
AEA's leadership is chosen democratically by AEA's members. Each year, locals elect a slate of delegates to AEA's Delegate Assembly. Delegates are responsible for proposing and voting on AEA's legislative agenda and policy positions, as well as electing AEA's president, vice president and treasurer.

Our President

Marisol Garcia was elected as the first woman of color and Chicana to serve as AEA President on May 7, 2022.

Our Vice President

Angela Philpot was elected as Vice President of the Arizona Education Association (AEA) on May 7, 2022.

Our Treasurer

Amber Gould was elected as Treasurer of the Arizona Education Association (AEA) on May 7, 2022.
