Concluding one's career successfully and preparing for the next phase of one's life should involve at least as much forethought and planning as the earlier stages of a career in education.

Arizona Retirement System Information
The Arizona Retirement System (ASRS) is a mandatory 401(a) retirement plan for state employees, including most school districts.  It is a defined benefit plan, which means pensions are determined by a standard formula payable at normal retirement age.  Visit the ASRS Web site or read the ASRS FAQ for more information about this retirement plan.

Members are encouraged to join AEA-Retired and NEA Retired to enjoy the benefits of membership even after retirement.  These NEA publications will help you understand, defend, and strengthen the quality and level of retirement benefits for yourself and other public education employees.  In addition NEA Member Benefits offers a variety of services and benefits to help you plan for your retirement.  Check out the related links to the right for more information about retirement planning.
